Iconic promotional vehicles for hire

Promovan website on an iPad display

I was asked to design and build a website for Promovan—a new company that offer iconic promotional vehicles for hire. It was essential that we utilised the photography of the vehicles to showcase them from multiple angles and scenarios.

The images are in fact transparent .png files that also have the shadow built into them. This does increase the image size but allowed us to use the same image on multiple backgrounds using CSS3 gradients—we could then control everything with stylesheets. This will be very useful in the long-term because it means we can use the same image if we decide to change any background panels; also the user only has to load one image even if there are multiple scenarios. The website follow a modern approach, making use of the width of the whole screen—the ‘V’ used throughout the branding is used on various panels to lead the viewer down the page.

Careful attention to detail was used whilst creating the online presence with regard to the brand guidelines. The typography, colour and layouts were used as much as possible and only minor tweaks with type were necessary to adapt for the screen. The close-up images are used to show further details on the vehicles.
